Draft Division
The Draft division includes heavy horse breeds traditionally bred for pulling, agricultural work, carriage driving, forestry and other forms of labor. These breeds are known for their strength, substance, calm temperament and powerful build.
While many draft breeds historically worked in harness and farm settings, several modern draft and draft-type horses are also commonly used for riding, driving, shows, leisure riding and crossbred sport disciplines today.
Within this section you will find breed overviews, height ranges, traditional turnout styles, feathering standards and realism-based coat standards used throughout the NEP archive and judging system.
