Comtois

The Comtois is a French draft horse breed originating from the Jura Mountains and the Franche-Comté region near the French-Swiss border. Historically used for agricultural work, forestry, transport, and mountain hauling, the Comtois is known for its endurance, strength, and calm temperament.
Compared to many heavier draft breeds, the Comtois is somewhat lighter and more compact while still maintaining strong pulling ability and sturdy conformation.
